A moment of silence.....

I was busy with a LO for one of Bo Bunny's challenges, 'things you love'. It has been on my desk for a while because of life just being busy and during this time I have been following the tragedy of 29 NZ miners being trapped. It really touched my heart and my thoughts and prayers are with those that have lost a loved one and have been affected by this terrible loss.
So I have journalled about the things I love, even coffee got a mention but I am also grateful for all these little and big things that are dear to me!

I machine stitched lace all the way around, about a third of the way I did think to myself, what am I thinking? But I am happy with the end result, with some inking, distressing and lots of layering with some hand made flowers too. Here is a close up...

And I thought I would share a pic of my DD in one of her costumes for her concert, this is what has been keeping me extremely busy but the concert is now finished and I should now have heaps more time:)

Thanks for popping by, hope you all had a fabulous weekend and I will be back later to visit everyone's blogs!

He's a Dreamer.......

This is my eldest son, he is a big boy but has the softest heart! I did this LO for Scrap the Boys chipboard challenge and I have used a 2Crafty air balloon and a Kaiser chipboard button.

And just a quick note, there is alot of you lovely ladies who have asked about my much loved brick wall stamp. I ordered it from an on line shop here in Australia, it is a Tim Holtz Collection stamp, Ultimate Grunge CMS075. Hope you can get it, if not let me know and I will give you the name of the shop.

Thanks for popping by and your lovely comments!

Isn't this gorgeous????

....the new papers from Basic Grey - Curio, just beautiful!!! I ordered these for my birthday from DH and they arrived on Friday, I was good, I left the box unopened but how sweet is my DH - he gave it to me early......LOL!!!

So I had to have a play and used the sketch from Get Picky.

This is of my DD and she wasn't even a year yet, so sweet! Here is a close up...

Fussy cut some gorgeous flowers and layered them, some machine stiching, distressing, inking.....all of my favourites :)

Do you see my brick wall? I have been hunting for a brick stamp and I finally found one - I am so in love with this stamp :)

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend and thanks for popping by!!

My Boys....

Some of you might know already, my boys are 17 months apart and it was very busy in the beginning with a 3 year old DD too but these boys have such a close bond. I have always loved watching them and now that they getting older they are 'partners in crime'.....LOL! The joys of boys :)
I have had these gorgeous pics of the two of them for a while now and I have finally scrapped them using Bo Bunny's range 'Cambridge', it is gorgeous and such a perfect range for boys! Here's my take on their sketch challenge........

While I had my papers out I joined in with the card challenge. This was a little harder, you had to use something from nature. When a I looked outside, all I could see was dirt and more dirt, living in the 'desert' theres not much! So I used a wooden embellishment, the birdcage and I haven't added my sentiment - will do that later when I have a home for my card!

Thank you for popping by :)

Stamp Storage

Isn't this fabric tote so cute and how talented is Rachael? If you would like a chance to win one of these, take a look here....Lime Tart

And how do I store my stamps? They are all in clear plastic storage containers, alphabets together, journaling blocks together etc. Then my gorgeous images from Lime Tart are in little containers like this....

Easy to see and easy to grab and take with me wherever, whenever I want to play with my stamps and Copics, one day I will have a container per manufacturer.....LOL!!!! BUT I still think that tote will look gorgeous on my desk :)

Lessons Learned

The theme this month for My Minds Sketch Challenge is 'lessons Learned', this got me thinking about alot of things. From the things my parents taught me to the things I am teaching my own children and one of the biggest lessons I think I can teach my children, is PERSEVERANCE. This will always benefit them in all that they do and teach them to not give up! These pics are of my DD when she was younger on holiday, it was her first holiday she was riding her bicycle without training wheels......perseverance = success !!!!!

I pretty much stuck to the sketch, I just shrunk it a bit.......LOL!!! And here is a close up....

I quickly snapped pics of this LO this afternoon before we had some major rain - I love the smell and sound of the rain!
Thanks for popping by!!

Cherry On Top Award

I received this lovely award from the super talented Cathy and there are some rules that apply when you pass it on, so here they are...

The rules are:

1. Thank the person that gave it to you!

Thank you so much Cathy for the Cherry On Top Award, my very 1st blog award!

2. Post it with pride on your blog!

3. List 3 things you love about yourself!

1) I am an easy going, calm and generally relaxed person.

2) I am patient and enjoy old people's company, one day when I have some more time I would like to volunteer at an old age home.

3) Love my kids and support and encourage them in many things, even if that m eans playing mom's taxi!!.

4. Post a picture you love!

This may not be the greatest photo of the kids, they all squinting in the sun but I love how it captures all 3 of them exploring. I love that they will do everything together, especially if we are out, they will wander off together!

5. Tag 5 other people.

Belinda Spencer

Teresa Fenstermacher

Mistra Hoolahan

Nikki Antonello

Sarah Lou

Sorry ladies I couldn't get these links to work, been fighting with blogger for 2 days now so I give up....LOL!! Thanks again Cathy and did you see I got the link to work up at the top?

Get Picky Inspiration....

I got slightly distracted with this one, everytime I looked at the pic for inspiration, the yummy lollies jumped out at me..........LOL!!!!! But no, I didn't go out and eat bags of lollies.... :)

I used lots of colours and patterns, the circles for the yummy swirly lollies, some candy striped twine, crocheted trim and doilie and I had to add the cute little bee button from Purple Pumpkin - bees would LOVE all those lollies :)

The pics are of my youngest DS just being silly in front of the camera for me, we spiked his hair up and he started to pull faces so who would't resist pulling the camera out? But I can't remember why there are some photo's of him upset - maybe we were laughing.

Thanks for popping by!!

A little bit of sunshine!!!!

It hasn't been the greatest of weeks around here so I thought I needed some 'sunshine'! Over at White With One challenge blog, their 1st challenge was white, yellow and handwritten journaling on your LO - no strips, no journal blocks *** gasp ***, wasn't sure about that one but I loved the yellow so here is my bit of sunshine!

My DD is only 9 and she has been coming home from school in tears, just with kids being kids. So its a little note to her to say she mustn't worry what others do and say, she must be herself and she is perfect as she is! It makes me so sad to see her upset and its even sadder when I think what its going to be like as she heads towards teenage years, kids do have it hard at times :(

Hope you are all having a fantastic week and thanks for popping by!!!
