Get Picky and My Minds Eye challenges!!!

First up is my LO for Get Picky's inspiration challenge, I love the whole quote but the word 'miracles' really stuck out at me, all 3 of my kids are miracles. But this LO is of my eldest son who was a twin but I lost his twin early in my pregnancy and had some serious complications , I have tucked in some personal journaling on the tag behind the scan pics and have kept the design pretty simple to keep my pics the main focus!

Next up is my LO for My Minds Eye challenge 'Its a _________ thing'. This is my DD and her love for all things girlie!

I got some shelving today for my little scrapbooking spot so I am busy organising and packing....making more space...LOL!!!! Thanks for popping by and for your lovely comments!!

White with 1

I loved the challenge this month at WW1 this month even though the grey was a bit daunting and the lack of grey stash....LOL!!! And with life being so busy at the moment, this LO took ages to do with so many interruptions - don't enjoy scrapping like that but hey, thats life!

Here is some close ups of my yummy piece of Dusty Attic.

I have been experimenting with my chippies, playing with my heat gun and loved the finish on my letterbox. Now I can't take credit for this, I got some helpful hints from the super talented Mistra Hoolahan, if you haven't seen her work then head over to her blog !

Thanks for popping by and for taking the time to comment. Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Remember......

to stop and take a moment to breath.......Phew has it been busy around here and not getting much time to scrap or sleep for that matter :( So I thought I would share an old card and two LO. First up is a card, using a gorgeous CC Designs stamp, Jessamine.

This LO was for last months (I think) sketch challenge at Crate Paper blog, a littl bit different to my usual I think but I still like it.

And last but not least is another Crate Paper LO using their Restoration range.

And how lucky am I? Yesterday was my birthday and DH is away but my DD gathered up the boys on Sunday night and they all made cards for me. She wrapped my pressies and they even made cupcakes for me while I was at work. I was completely blown away and felt very loved and appreciated! Sometimes they get so wrapped up in themselves (as all kids do), you actually wonder how much they appreciate? They did it all by themselves without any prompting so I am very proud of my gorgeous children!!!! Here are their cards, aren't they special?

Well done if you got to the end of my long post and thank you for popping by!!!

A moment of silence.....

I was busy with a LO for one of Bo Bunny's challenges, 'things you love'. It has been on my desk for a while because of life just being busy and during this time I have been following the tragedy of 29 NZ miners being trapped. It really touched my heart and my thoughts and prayers are with those that have lost a loved one and have been affected by this terrible loss.
So I have journalled about the things I love, even coffee got a mention but I am also grateful for all these little and big things that are dear to me!

I machine stitched lace all the way around, about a third of the way I did think to myself, what am I thinking? But I am happy with the end result, with some inking, distressing and lots of layering with some hand made flowers too. Here is a close up...

And I thought I would share a pic of my DD in one of her costumes for her concert, this is what has been keeping me extremely busy but the concert is now finished and I should now have heaps more time:)

Thanks for popping by, hope you all had a fabulous weekend and I will be back later to visit everyone's blogs!

He's a Dreamer.......

This is my eldest son, he is a big boy but has the softest heart! I did this LO for Scrap the Boys chipboard challenge and I have used a 2Crafty air balloon and a Kaiser chipboard button.

And just a quick note, there is alot of you lovely ladies who have asked about my much loved brick wall stamp. I ordered it from an on line shop here in Australia, it is a Tim Holtz Collection stamp, Ultimate Grunge CMS075. Hope you can get it, if not let me know and I will give you the name of the shop.

Thanks for popping by and your lovely comments!

Isn't this gorgeous????

....the new papers from Basic Grey - Curio, just beautiful!!! I ordered these for my birthday from DH and they arrived on Friday, I was good, I left the box unopened but how sweet is my DH - he gave it to me early......LOL!!!

So I had to have a play and used the sketch from Get Picky.

This is of my DD and she wasn't even a year yet, so sweet! Here is a close up...

Fussy cut some gorgeous flowers and layered them, some machine stiching, distressing, inking.....all of my favourites :)

Do you see my brick wall? I have been hunting for a brick stamp and I finally found one - I am so in love with this stamp :)

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend and thanks for popping by!!

My Boys....

Some of you might know already, my boys are 17 months apart and it was very busy in the beginning with a 3 year old DD too but these boys have such a close bond. I have always loved watching them and now that they getting older they are 'partners in crime'.....LOL! The joys of boys :)
I have had these gorgeous pics of the two of them for a while now and I have finally scrapped them using Bo Bunny's range 'Cambridge', it is gorgeous and such a perfect range for boys! Here's my take on their sketch challenge........

While I had my papers out I joined in with the card challenge. This was a little harder, you had to use something from nature. When a I looked outside, all I could see was dirt and more dirt, living in the 'desert' theres not much! So I used a wooden embellishment, the birdcage and I haven't added my sentiment - will do that later when I have a home for my card!

Thank you for popping by :)

Stamp Storage

Isn't this fabric tote so cute and how talented is Rachael? If you would like a chance to win one of these, take a look here....Lime Tart

And how do I store my stamps? They are all in clear plastic storage containers, alphabets together, journaling blocks together etc. Then my gorgeous images from Lime Tart are in little containers like this....

Easy to see and easy to grab and take with me wherever, whenever I want to play with my stamps and Copics, one day I will have a container per manufacturer.....LOL!!!! BUT I still think that tote will look gorgeous on my desk :)

Lessons Learned

The theme this month for My Minds Sketch Challenge is 'lessons Learned', this got me thinking about alot of things. From the things my parents taught me to the things I am teaching my own children and one of the biggest lessons I think I can teach my children, is PERSEVERANCE. This will always benefit them in all that they do and teach them to not give up! These pics are of my DD when she was younger on holiday, it was her first holiday she was riding her bicycle without training wheels......perseverance = success !!!!!

I pretty much stuck to the sketch, I just shrunk it a bit.......LOL!!! And here is a close up....

I quickly snapped pics of this LO this afternoon before we had some major rain - I love the smell and sound of the rain!
Thanks for popping by!!

Some prettiness & an award!

Aren't the colours gorgeous???

Cherry On Top Award

I received this lovely award from the super talented Cathy and there are some rules that apply when you pass it on, so here they are...

The rules are:

1. Thank the person that gave it to you!

Thank you so much Cathy for the Cherry On Top Award, my very 1st blog award!

2. Post it with pride on your blog!

3. List 3 things you love about yourself!

1) I am an easy going, calm and generally relaxed person.

2) I am patient and enjoy old people's company, one day when I have some more time I would like to volunteer at an old age home.

3) Love my kids and support and encourage them in many things, even if that m eans playing mom's taxi!!.

4. Post a picture you love!

This may not be the greatest photo of the kids, they all squinting in the sun but I love how it captures all 3 of them exploring. I love that they will do everything together, especially if we are out, they will wander off together!

5. Tag 5 other people.

Belinda Spencer

Teresa Fenstermacher

Mistra Hoolahan

Nikki Antonello

Sarah Lou

Get Picky Inspiration....

I got slightly distracted with this one, everytime I looked at the pic for inspiration, the yummy lollies jumped out at me..........LOL!!!!! But no, I didn't go out and eat bags of lollies.... :)

I used lots of colours and patterns, the circles for the yummy swirly lollies, some candy striped twine, crocheted trim and doilie and I had to add the cute little bee button from Purple Pumpkin - bees would LOVE all those lollies :)

The pics are of my youngest DS just being silly in front of the camera for me, we spiked his hair up and he started to pull faces so who would't resist pulling the camera out? But I can't remember why there are some photo's of him upset - maybe we were laughing.

Thanks for popping by!!

A little bit of sunshine!!!!

It hasn't been the greatest of weeks around here so I thought I needed some 'sunshine'! Over at White With One challenge blog, their 1st challenge was white, yellow and handwritten journaling on your LO - no strips, no journal blocks *** gasp ***, wasn't sure about that one but I loved the yellow so here is my bit of sunshine!

My DD is only 9 and she has been coming home from school in tears, just with kids being kids. So its a little note to her to say she mustn't worry what others do and say, she must be herself and she is perfect as she is! It makes me so sad to see her upset and its even sadder when I think what its going to be like as she heads towards teenage years, kids do have it hard at times :(

Hope you are all having a fantastic week and thanks for popping by!!!

'Stay Close'

This LO is of my DD and youngest DS, they are 3 years apart and my DD has always been a darling big sister to her two baby brothers but in particular to her youngest brother. When he was little she would sit on top of him and help me by dressing him, I only hope it will stay this way even with the odd quarrels at the moment!

I used Bo Bunny's Olivia range and their sketch as well...

Another short & sweet post, thanks for stopping by!!!

Something a little different.....

When I saw this sketch from Crate Paper, I thought 'nope, not for me' BUT what good is a challenge if its not a challenge?

So I decided to play with my new Restoration goodies - I love this range!!!! And this is what I came up with, sewed each little square twice so I have a new found respect for quilters out there!

I so enjoyed this sketch and was really happy with my end result. The pic is of DH and I, in December last year all dressed up and ready to go to a christmas party and DD took the pic. I tried to load a close up, so you can see my stitching, inking, distressing and some crackle accents but blogger is being difficult and won't let me?

Thank you for popping by!!!

Good weekend..........

Its been a good weekend, some lovely quiet time with the family, the house is clean, washing is all up to date and there wasn't much running around!!! Plus on the scrappy side of life - remember my Bo Bunny LO 'Fridays...' using their Olivia range (posted previously)- it won....YAY!!!!

And I have had my very first LO featured on Prima's blog for their September BAP:)

They got my name mixed up with my DH, its happened before but its ok I am still happy....LOL

Thank you for letting me share my excitement with you all, I hope you had a fabulous weekend and thanks for popping by!!!

Please?

Last year my DD wanted to cut her hair and her hair was very long, right down to her bottom. I have scrapped some photo's of her asking me very sweetly if she can and used the sketched from Dusty Attic's October challenge.

So we let her cut her hair but the hairdresser did an awful job and we had to take her to another hairdresser to get it fixed up, the poor thing. But she has let it grow again and its almost as long as it was!!

Last week I said I would share some pics with you from my little photography class I have been doing. Now its not the best scenery but we had a play with our cameras with different settings etc. so it still was great fun!

Now this one, we were playing with the shutter speed and doesn't it look like an extremely busy road? Well there were probably less than 5 cars on the road at the time. Now I know about this, I can't wait to take some pics of fireworks or even lightning, cool hey?

Thank you for stopping by and your comments!!!

Lost & Found

I think Lost & Found from My Minds Eye has to be one of my favourites at the moment. I have quite a few of the 'pink' papers from this range but not much of the 'red', I don't know why I didn't order much but after using what I did have I definately need some more!!!

This is my LO for their blog challenge #16 and you had to use black.

Here is a close up of my Dusty Attic skeleton clock with the little bird I cut out. I backed the clock with some paper and inked it with Tim Holtz Antique Linen & Old Paper and then UTEED the chippy.

This is my eldest son when he was 2 and if you can see he is puckering his lips because he isn't too happy. Well, he is 7 now and still does that...........LOL!!!! We have spent the weekend watching old family videos and what a special thing to have, brings back so many memories. Lots of little things I had forgotten and where have my babies gone???

Thanks for stopping by :)

Lets Get Shabby

I found Lets Get Shabby blog via my 'Maxine Melange' newsletter so I had a peek - wow, there is some amazing inspiration and talent - beautiful work!!!!

This is my LO for challenge #16

There were 3 parts to the challenge, first you had to choose your kitchen - I chose kitchen 2 and then use 3 dominant colours from it - light pink, darker pink/red and green. A piece of fabric - behind my cluster of flowers is some pink tulle. Lastly you had to include 2 die cut shapes - my title 'Breathtaking' and the pink circle (sassafras lass die cut from my stash)are my 2 die cut shapes.

I painted some gesso over my green patterned paper to tone it down as it was a bit too bright, there is lots of stitching - not sure if you can see this, yummy Dusty Attic pieces and lots of gorgeous flowers!!!

Thank you for popping by and have a fab weekend!

Olivia.....

While I was scrapping with Bo Bunny's Olivia, I scrapped a layout for their current Friday challenge - 'Your favourite day of the week'. I chose Friday (obviously.....LOL) because it is the start of the weekend and that means no morning rushes, no 'running around', time to unwind and take it a bit easy and spend some fun time with the family!!!!

I was also going to share some pics with you tonight because I have been busy with a photography course and we had a bit of a photo shoot tonight and I have some awsome shots!!!! But my batteries died on me so they are busy charging so you will have to wait a bit!!

*edit* I have taken another pic today and had a play with my camera settings to get a better pic (with my new photography skills.....LOL) and at least it isn't so grey!! Still need to learn lots on my new camera!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

A Layout!!!!!

So last week when I sat down to scrap, it just wasn't happening - it just all looked yuck :( So I left it the rest of the week and sat down this weekend and had a play, this is my LO for The Colorroom palette #27.

I am pretty happy with it and just enjoyed scrapping again!

Thanks for popping by and your lovely comments!!!
